2005 MS Bike Tour

Another successful Multiple Sclerosis Cactus and Crude 150 Mile Bike Tour was held July 16th and 17th, 2005. Not only was this the 16th annual fund raiser for MS but also a like number of years that Amateur Radio Operators had furnished communications. Only injuries sustained were some skinned legs and very few mechanical difficulties. The first day's route covered 75 miles from Midland to Big Spring. The next day's 75 miles went from Big Spring to Post. Approximately 110 bike riders participated. Radio Communications was furnished the first day by members ot the Midland Amateur Radio Club. They were:

Peter Balog----------------KB5RTL
Bill Bentley----------------N5POB
J. T. Caldwell------------WA5ZFH
Dwane Frantz-------------KD5VOU
Jim Reid-------------------K5KUX
Doug Salyers-------------KB5TUN
Alan Sewell---------------N5NA
Sterling Talley------------WB5G
Michael "Tex" Watson-KB5KNF

Additional radio operators serving in other capacities were:

John Beane---------------KE5EZE
Butch Gardner-----------KD5VPB
David Ham-------------KE5FEJ

The Big Spring Amateur Radio Club furnished communications on the second day. Many thanks for your help. Only because of the many volunteers is this event a a success year after year.
