Homebrew amp covering 80-10 meters (No WARC).
Two 4-400 Eimac tubes in the final.
Heavy duty band switch, PA coil.
Tuned input circuits for 80,40,20,15 and 10
Desktop RF deck with remote Power Supply
Power supply transformer is a Peter Dahl 2400Vac at 1.5 amp CCS with full wave bridge rectifier using four 14KV 2amp diode blocks.
A 40uF 4Kv Oil filled capacitor for filtering. Soft start circuit, external blower included.
This amp will not work on 117Vac, requires 234Vac
Included are two spare 4-400 tubes in Eimac box.
Tubes untested, Amp untested. As-is, must pickup at MARC club house, no shipping.

This amp being sold by sealed bid with a minimum bid of $500.

Bid must include your bid amount and contact information. Please place "4-400 Amplifier" on the outside of the envelope in which the bid is submitted.

Bids will be opened at 11:00 am on September 6 at the MARC clubhouse. If there is a tie, earliest submitted bid will be the winner as determined by the post mark. If the post marks are the same there will be a coin toss to determine the winner.

Amp may be inspected on Saturday, August 23, 30, or September 6 from 8:30 am until 11:00 am at the clubhouse.

The Cactus & Crude Ride 2008 was held July 19 - 20. Ten MARC members supported the ride on the 19th utilizing the club's 444.200 repeater and APRS.

Field Day 2008 was held at Beal Park. We operated 3A this year with two tri-band beams, two HF2V verticals and an HF-5V. Atmos Energy loaned us the use of their Mobile Operations Unit trailer, thanks N5ATO!

We were expecting 100 deg weather but it finally rained in Midland, cooling things down considerably!

KD5VOU again cooked up some GREAT burgers!

W5AJ is still tallying the score but we made 1391 CW QSO's, 1441 SSB QSO's and 33 6m (SSB) QSO's.

Skywarn Appreciation Day. A great time was had by all. We installed a 75 Meter Delta loop at 50 feet and had no problem talking to anyone we wanted to..... Good turnout and we worked 63 Weather Service Stations a record for W5MAF.....

The Midland Amateur Radio Club sponsored a Tailgate Party on September 15, 2007. J.T., WA5ZFH, rounded up some coffee & donuts for the morning and cooked some chili dogs for lunch. Everyone had a great time! Photos compliments of KE5HTB, WA5ZFH, & N5NA.
