Anyone can become a licensed amateur radio operator. There is no age limit. A technical background is NOT required. You don't even need to learn the morse code!

In order to promote the growth of ham radio The Midland Amateur Radio Club sponsors classes to teach the fundamentals required to pass the test. The classes are normally presented in one weekend. The test is given by fellow amateurs right here in Midland, Texas, immediately following the class.
