Twelve members of MARC provided communications for the annual Bike MS: Cactus & Crude Ride 2009 event held July 18 & 19.  MARC provided communications from Midland to Big Spring on the first day and the Big Spring ARC handled the second day from Big Spring to Post.  The ride covers 75 miles each day.

In addition to communications club members checked on riders along the route, called for mechanics as needed, checked on and shuttled rest stop supplies, and carried some riders up the route to the nearest rest stop.  KD5VOW, while not a member of the official MARC contingent, rode with the rest stop supply trailer providing a valuable communications link as well as delivering and picking up rest stop supplies.  KE5EYZ drove one of the vehicles pulling the SAG trailers.

Club members participating were WA5ZFH, KD5VOU, K5MTX, N5MXE, KE5MKT, K5KUX, KB5TUN, KK5ZG, N5OVH, KD5VOW, KE5EYZ, and N5NA.  KD5VOW and N5NA also helped with the ride on Sunday.  While not club members, KE5FEJ and KE5EZE were mechanics for the ride.
