Mark Cranford, N5XXD, and Sara Gail Cranford, N5ZMP, have received confirmation that they can verify QSL's to qualify anyone for the IARU Region 2 Award. The IARU Region 2 Award is a new award available to amateurs and shortwave listeners who submit confirmed QSLs with 20 Region 2 countries or entities. They will have the forms and be available for card checking at the hamfest. For more information visit the announcement on the ARRL Website.

The application for MARC's annual $500 scholarship is now available for download. The scholarship is available to any Midland County high school senior or college student. Preference is given to club members who are licensed amateur operators or the sons/daughters of club members. Click here to download. |

The 2009 ARRL Field Day results have been posted to the ARRL website. The QST article is available for download at http://www.arrl.org/contests/results/2009/fd.pdf.
A few highlights from the scores database are:
- MARC placed 8th nationally in category 4A
- We placed 63rd nationally in ALL categories
- We're #4 among all categories in the West Gulf Division and #1 in 4A
- We're #1 in the WTX section among all categories
The next highest score in the WTX secion was K5FD, the Big Bend ARC, with 7414 points compared to our 9652 points. Big Bend was in category 2A. The only other 4A entry in WTX was W5WX, the Panhandle ARC, with 1312 points.
