surely do appreciate their help. The Hamfest Chairman was not one of the jobs I had intended to do, but here I am, and will do it to the best of my ability. It just seems like time goes ripping by at a incredible rate. Maybe, that is one of the signs of age, because it seems like I am so busy now, I don't know how I had time to work. I guess I just didn't take care of the "stuff" that I am taking care of now. So maybe, it will ease up sometime soon. I hope so.
I am looking forward to seeing each of you at our annual Christmas Dinner at the Holiday Inn December 11th. I wonder what will be cooked up in the gag gifts this year. At least maybe someone else will be pegged for the repeater timer outer.
The Odessa club is having their Christmas dinner Monday December 4th at the CAP building on the southwest corner of Schlameyer airport at 7:00 p.m. Hope some of you will be attending. I don't miss too many chances to eat, and you can tell it by looking at me.
The winter weather has finally gotten to the tree leaves at my QTH and it is time to start raking them up. Bundle up and stay warm.

MARC Discussion & Discussion Group

I set up an announcement and discussion list for the Midland Amateur Radio Club I highly recommend all use and subscribe to it. It could be used to announce Club Meetings,  Hamfest information, Dxpeditions and so on! Rules are simple. There are no rules except we keep the discussions related or remotely related to Amateur Radio and the Midland Amateur Radio Club!
Flames and personal attacks are discouraged and will NOT be permitted! I control the list! Abuse and you will be deleted! Please! Don't make me do this! This should be a invaluable tool in addition to the club web site and the Internet.
Thanks.

Greetings to all for the Holiday season. I am typing this late in the evening on the first day of December, 2000, and this year has passed in a flash. I had good intentions of going to the NWS site to join the rest of the club members in running the stations for this weekend, but had my father-in-law and mother-in-law show up about 6 p.m. He has come down to help me finish building a storage shed in my backyard to house some of the ham gear that filled up my ham shack. So I will join in next year. I hope that the ones, who are there, will have a good time and make lots of contacts. It is a nice site, and inside, so the weather is not a factor and they should get a fast warning if a severe storm brews up! Boy, first day of December and only 24 more days to Christmas, and I haven't bought a single item for a gift. Looks like I need to get busy and do that. Just got all of the turkey digested, it seems, and now Santa Claus. Come to think of it, maybe Santa will bring me a new rig! I should have the storage shed built by then and will have room in the shack for some more new gear.
We surely have had a series of good ham club meetings and some real good programs, Dwayne, W5ZOX, surely is doing a good job lining up the programs. The hot dog family night was well attended and I saw a few faces that I haven't seen in a while. The Hamfest Meeting was well attended and got most of the segments chaired by someone, so that is very encouraging. We will have another Hamfest Meeting on Sataturday, December 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the clubhouse. Please attend to finish ironing out the items still left unattended. Beverly, KV5BNT, and Ted, W5WTX. are continually helping me in getting things done. I
