ARES starts new net

— By Dwayne Fox, W5ZOX

ARES program has begun a new net in the West Texas Area that will add coverage to the New Mexico area. The new net is on 440.925 and will be held every Wednesday at 8:00 PM. The tone for this net is 146.2. With the current net, that runs on Wednesday night on 147.300, this will add to our current training program. Mark Smith, N5UNH, will be the Net Control for the 444.925 net.

We want to thank Pat England, KB5MBK, for the new net expansion for ARES. We ask that you check in to both nets. Active check- ins get turned into the state and local branches. This will show that we are ready locally. If you want to become a member, get hold of Mark Smith, H5UNH. As we turn the last corner before the new year we will be working on exercises .That will enhance our readiness in our area.
