and keep the feed line off of the
ground.
Next year we sure need to separate the antennas as far as possible !!!. I finally ran out of effort about 18:45 Sun June 25th and the tear down crew was already taking stuff down and I then joined in the tear down and we loaded everything up, policed the area and I drove home to Odessa and the rest of the guys went and unloaded the "stuff" at the MARC clubhouse.

Thanks for the Effort people it was fun.

Hello to everyone reading this July newsletter. I want to remind you  that the July club meeting will be Monday night 7:30 pm at the Midland Amateur Radio Club house July 10th.
We will have a short business meeting and then have a program on building cheap yagi antennas for 144 and 440 MHz.
We will build either or maybe both depending on the time allotted and then will give it away as the door prize by drawing a ticket and everyone gets a ticket.
Don't forget the American Red Cross emergency exercise Sat July 8th see Jim Reid, K5KUX and the Cactus & Crude 150 Mile Bicycle Race July 15th see Sterling Tally, WB5G.
73 and try to stay cool as possible Pete, WB7AMP

Field Day Report Cont. from page 1
We had several ham visitors and a couple of the neighbors from the area around the park stop by and Channel 7 TV came and gave us a interview.
Thanks to Alan Williams for contacting the media. The antennas used this year were an end fed Zepp fed with open wire ladder line, a FFD (friendly fieldday
doublett) fed also with home-brew open wire ladder line and a commercial G5RV ant.
The FFD performed a whole lot better than the end fed Zepp and was used the most. The end fed Zepp was at 90 degree to it but we were only about 30' from the G5RV and parallel to it.
The G5RV worked ok I think after about two tries to set it up
