Howdy: Well it seems like no time at all has passed, since I sent a note to Dewey for the newsletter, but here it is time again. The members of M.A.R.C. have been busy this past month with Ken Williams, K5JOG, Robert Boyd, KC5ZJO, Dwayne Fox W5ZOX, Dick Titchen, W5RCB, Trey Watkins, KD5HCQ, and myself participated in the March of Dimes Walkathon in Midland. They had over 800 people that walked in it. They had a very good turn out. The weather was cool but warmed up and then the wind blew. Imagine that! Thanks to all that helped out. The walk had no emergency so our job went smooth. Beverly Harwood, KC5BNT, started the ball rolling with other people to get goods, foodstuff, clothes etc. donated to the burnout victims of the Los Alamos fire. The Mayflower Moving Co. donated a van and truck driver and Wal-Mart let them park it on their lot. Beverly reported they filled up the van in spite of the bad weather on that Friday. There were several other hams involved. I don't have the names of the people who helped from the club, but I thank you very much. Jim Reid, K5KUX, asked the club to participate in a county wide emergency exercise conducted by the Red Cross and need about 15 hams. Contact Jim Reid, K5KUX, or Janet Cross at the Red Cross to volunteer. That will be on Saturday, July 8th. Sterling Talley, WB5G, reminded us that the Cactus Crude 150 Mile Bicycle race will be Saturday, July
