A Word of Thanks!
I wish to express my appreciation to Dwayne W5ZOX and his wife Pat, James N5UNI, Ken, W5JOG, and Mike W5MLS, for their kind assistance. Without them Amoving@ would have been a much more difficult task. Thanks Y=all

The St. Patrick Day Hamfest 2000 has been put in the history book. To each of one of you, who put in time and energy to make it a success, I thank you personally, and also from the MARC. I attended several Hamfest in 1999, and I believe our Hamfest attendance was not down as much as some of the others. Ted Harwood that said we had 412 preregistered and the crowd was estimated to be 4500 for the total weekend, which I thought was good. However, Ted said it had been 5500 in the past. I haven=t sorted the door registrations yet. Ken Williams, K5JOG, and John Wilder, WA5PFJ, said they would help me do that. The tickets for a registration and the extra chances are all blue in color so will take a little while to do. I encourage each one of you to attend our club meetings, and we hope to have some programs of interest to all of you. I want you to know that the MARC is one of the more fortunate clubs around to have the building, grounds, antennas, towers and the radio equipment inside to be used by all. Please feel free and come by and operate the club station. Just remember to operate with your license privileges or under a control operator, who needs to sign the logbook. I look forward to serving you this year and hope we have a good year together and enjoy ham radio to its fullest. Next club meeting is. May 8th.
73 Pete, WB7AMP

Did you know there was one military service that used both "Q" and "Z" signals on a daily basis? Which service?

Ham's best friend
--By Steve Burel, AD4LY
… like man's in general, is the dog. Why?
10. He doesn't need a chair. 9. He always answers your call. 8. He entertains you when the bands are dead. 7. He keeps your feet warm on cold winter nights. 6. He never reminds you how late it is. 5. He understands your frustrations; he's been in a few dogfights himself. 4. He doesn't talk while you're trying to copy code. 3. He's one being whose CW skills are worse than yours. 2. He doesn't care how much you spend on QRP gear. 1. He listens before he barks.
