   The holiday season is on us once again. It will be Thanksgiving soon and then Christmas is just around the corner. The fall weather will be turning to winter weather as soon as this week. These fronts that have blown in has driven my allergies into overdrive. I have sneezed so much sometimes I get a headaches. I thought that when we started getting moisture around this area, my allergies would stop but not so. I took a week away from Odessa and took my mother to Boise, Idaho to see my "little" sister. While I was gone, Larry Nix lost his mother, Norene Nix. My heart goes out to the Nix Family.
      The time is coming upon us fast in getting things ready for our 2001 Hamfest. We will have a hamfest meeting Nov. 11th Saturday morning 10:00 AM at the club house. Please attend to help in work assignments, ideas and etc. to enhance the hamfest. We can find a job for everyone.
      I attended the Odessa Hamfest held on November 4th & 5th. It looked like a good crowd especially because of the bad weather. Our Odessa club, I can say that because I am a member, did something different in giving away cash, instead of radios and was very well received by those in attendance. One other thing that was done different was that the grand prize $750.00 was given away Saturday morning and the second prize $250.00 was given away Sunday. There were $50.00 hourly prizes also. The hamfest was all over by noon Sunday, with everyone packed up and gone. I had a good time and made a little more space in my ham shack.
      After a 30 day retirement I have gone back to work and putting in 12 hour days and I am tired. I had al-

You must send your money to MARC by December 8. Paying your money secures your reservation. In the past, we have had some "no-shows". The club has had to pay for the "no-shows".

Your assistance is needed by Dewey Baucum,WB5CDD,and Ted Harwood, W5WTC. We need to be given any address changes, telephone changes, and email changes. Also, we need to get any other changes that might be needed to keep the mailing list and roster list up-to-date.
   If you are a member of ARRL and have not gone to the ARRL Web Page and set up your ARRl email address, we encourage you do do so. Setting up your option ARRL email address does not chnge your primary email address at all. It just means that your mail will be forwarded to your primary address.
